This article contains information to help troubleshoot issues with wrapping eth, unwrapping weth, or enabling a token.
The issues are organized as follows:
1. Wrapping/Enabling Pending forever/failing (Metamask digital wallet issue)
2. WETH or Token balance is not displaying correctly
3. Any other issues? Please reach out to our customer support! We're available 24 hours a day.
Please note that DDEX currently works best on the Chrome web browser. If you are using an uncommon web browser, there may be some additional challenges.
Wrapping or Enabling is pending forever (or fails every time)
Occasionally, users experience an issue when trying to wrap, unwrap, or enable a token which causes the transaction to pend seemingly forever. DDEX may mark this transaction as failed, but you may still see it pending in your MetaMask. If this is happening, don't worry we have several solutions!
What is happening here?
Typically this indicates that the gas price for your transaction was set too low compared to the current Ethereum network traffic. The gas price is listed in gwei, and appropriate gas prices fluctuate depending on Ethereum network traffic. DDEX will automatically suggest a gas price for you based on current traffic: we recommend not lowering that price.
If your gas price is set lower than the network average, miners will prioritize other transactions over yours. Occasionally, low gas price transactions can be "dropped" by the Ethereum network and will get stuck in a long queue before being picked back up. While you wait for this to happen, the transaction does not appear on blockchain explorers like etherscan.io.
Even if you tried to submit a new transaction again but with a higher gas price, it may still fail! MetaMask and other similar wallet enabled browser extensions are setup to check previous transactions before submitting this new one. So the higher gas price transaction ends up waiting on a response from the original transaction, and thus does not go through right away.
What can I do to fix this?
There are multiple solutions to this problem. A few below:
1 - Resubmit the transaction within metamask
The first thing to try is within MetaMask resubmitting the transaction but with a higher gas price. See the picture below:
Click the "Retry with a higher gas price here" for your initial transaction. This allows you to resubmit it with a new gas price. To determine which gas price to use, refer to https://ethgasstation.info/ (at the time of writing this article, the "safe price" for transactions is 12 gwei).
You should not need to change the gas limit - but please make sure that it is at least 80,000.
Note that resubmitting the transaction within MetaMask actually prevents DDEX from tracking the transaction. You may need to refresh the DDEX webpage after the transaction goes through.
2 - For Wrapping/Unwrapping, try on a different platform
While this bug is typically due to Ethereum network traffic issues and your wallet interface, not specifically the DDEX/browser interface, it's easy to confirm this by testing wrapping or unwrapping on another platform.

WETH is used on multiple platforms, not just DDEX. You can always try to wrap/unwrap on a different platform (like the above) to see if you're having issues specifically connecting with the DDEX interface. If it doesn't work on other platforms, it's an indication that your transaction was probably dropped by the network and you will need to try #1 or #3.
3 - Re-install MetaMask
This is not the most fun solution, but it works 100% of the time for resolving this issue. Re-installing effectively clears the transactions that MetaMask is waiting on, and allows you to start the process over again.
Please save and back up all of your private key information, seed phrases, etc. for your MetaMask account(s) before re-installing.After re-installing, when you try to wrap/unwrap/enable, please refer to https://ethgasstation.info/ to pick a reasonable gas price.
4 - Contact the DDEX team for support!

My WETH or Token balance is not correct
Understanding the balances section
DDEX reads these values directly from your address' balances. So as long as you have the correct address connected to DDEX, these values should be 100% correct.
Occasionally users see a different value for tokens/weth in an address on some blockchain explorers. These explorers are often slower to update the individual balances of your tokens! The best way to check your current WETH balance is as follows:
- Go to the etherscan page for WETH
- Enter your public wallet address under the "Filter by:" area
- This page shows your current balance
You can do this for ANY token!
Seriously, my balances still don't match!
One more thing to check! Are you certain that you're looking at the correct token? There are many tokens that share the same symbols, yet are completely different. For example, the Hydro Protocol token and the Holo Token share the same HOT symbol.
When viewing a token, you can check the token's contract address through the info link to double check that you're viewing the correct token.
If it's still not making sense, please feel free to reach out to our team and we will gladly assist you. We offer 24 hour a day support on our telegram channel and zendesk support site.
